I've been researching about all the different types of Internet safety packages that are available to everyone. I must admit I got pretty confused about all the 'genuine' packages that will truly work & others that won't do their 'jobs' so well.
For the Firewall packages I looked at Zone Alarm and Comodo Firewall Pro. I would recommend the Comodo Firewall Pro package as this one seemed to give you a better deal. You can download this one from their website www.personalfirewall.comodo.com for free, you get a full package which you can personalise to your own needs, you get a help FAQ's to help you as well as online technical help.
For the content-Filtering Packages I looked at Scrub IT & Norton Internet Security, I would recommend the Norton Internet Security package as it's well known & you get a full package from them for the cost of £49.99. You have to update it every year, to enable updates etc to be uploaded onto your computer, you can see screenshots on their website to see how easy it is to download & to use.
The Internet Security Packages were fairly confusing as well, the ones I looked at mainly were Norton 360 All-in- One Security Package & McAfee Total Protection. Again I would recommend the Norton 360 All-in-One Package as it's well known & very easy to use. The cost of the package is £69.99 which you need to update yearly as they are discovering new viruses all the time therefore the Norton Packages are always getting updated all the time. You can see screenshots of the packages & see how easy it is to install. You get very good technical support, you can contact them by e-mail, phone or have an online chat with them.
When creating a password you have to remember that you don't make it too easy for people to guess or 'hack' into. The best way to do this is to create passwords that contain both numbers & letters e.g h3av3n or i12rtA!nsws. Do NOT use personal information & don't use words like heaven as it doesn't take that long work your way through a dictionary to 'hack' into someones password.
